BSD’s Mail Courier, Howard Laws, was recognized as this year’s District
Educational Support Professional of the Year. Howard says he “strives to embody
the spirit of being ‘Proud to be BSD’ by acting as a vital connection among staff,
students, and parents”. Additionally, Howard, through his unique role, has built
relationships with many students and staff over the years, helping to create a
supportive and inclusive environment within BSD. The Delaware State Educational
Support Professional of the Year program is administered by the Delaware
Department of Education. Each year the program recognizes outstanding service
by school employees who provide direct or indirect services to students and their
families. In December, the state program will choose one person from among
Delaware’s school district and charter nominees to serve as Delaware’s
Educational Support Professional of the Year.
